On Sunday , the 17th of April, I gave a talk at a very well attended meeting of the East Midlands Orchid Society over Nottingham way. This was, for me at least, great fun. I always like telling people about what we at Bewdley Orchids are doing and how things are progressing. It is part of my make up that I think that if I know something I should be prepared to pass it on, not try to keep it secret. Sometimes people give the impression that what they know is so important it should not be shared, silly really. The members at Nottingham were all very friendly and delighted to tell me of their successes with local nature reserves and the orchids that were growing wild locally. So many thanks to the Society for their hospitality and for allowing me to talk to them.
Next Sunday, the 24th, we are off to our first plant fair of the year at Spetchley Gardens. This should be an excellent day out. Our plants are only just starting to get going, but we will have Common Spotted, Green Winged and Butterfly orchids for sale. Besides that you can make the day even better by just coming along for a chat.
