First Common Spotted of the year
This week has seen the first of our Common Spotted orchids coming into flower. This particular one is very robust plant which started growing early and has flowered early as well. The leaves are particularly fine as they are very heavily marked in purple.

Our collection of species is increasing as we take new plants out of culture and introduce them into pots. At this time they are very delicate as the cuticle tends to be porous as they have not had to conserve water while they were in sealed culture vessels. Great care has to be taken to introduce them gently to open air life, even though they will be ideally suited to growing in the garden by the time we offer them for sale.
